Delmar Company manufactures both ANSI-standard Buna rubber gaskets and custom Buna gaskets that match our customers’ unique design requirements. We use a state-of-the-art Atom Flashcutter to precision-cut all our Buna rubber gaskets, holding tolerances as close as ±0.008” or better on even the most complex gasket profiles.

Buna Gaskets from the Experts
Also known as nitrile rubber, Buna is a synthetic rubber copolymer composed of acrylonitrile and butadiene. Numerous variations of Buna material exist, each with its own unique properties, but in general, Buna offers good resistance to oil, fuel, chemicals, and acids, as well as high strength. Buna rubber is commonly used in a broad range of applications, from automotive to medical.
The Delmar team will work with you to determine if Buna is the right material for your gasketing needs, or if another rubber gasket material would be a better choice. Material selection is based on a variety of factors, including process temperatures and pressures, chemical compatibility, sealing requirements, and more.
We use a series of questions we call STAMP to determine what material will work best for your gasket application. Please keep the following questions in mind when specifying your standard or custom gaskets:
- S: Size of the gasket
- T: Temperature range in which the gasket will operate
- A: Application—is it a valve? a pump? a flange? etc.
- M: Media—what will the gasket prevent from leaking?
- P: Pressure range in which the gasket will operate
