Neoprene Gaskets from the Experts
Neoprene, sometimes referred to as polychloroprene, is a family of synthetic rubber materials. While each neoprene elastomer is unique, in general, neoprene materials exhibit good chemical stability, remain flexible across a broad temperature range, and are highly resistant to degradation. In addition to gaskets, neoprene is commonly used to make hoses, weather stripping, sound insulation, and a wide variety of other products.
The experts at Delmar will work with you to determine if neoprene is the best material for your specific application, or if another rubber gasket material would produce better results. Material selection is based on numerous factors, such as process pressure and temperature, chemical compatibility, and sealing capabilities.
We use a series of technical questions (which we call STAMP) as a means of finding the best material for your standard or custom gaskets. Please keep the following questions in mind when specifying your gaskets:

- T: Temperature range the gasket will be used in
- A: Application—is it a flange? a valve? a pump? etc.
- M: Media—what will the gasket prevent from leaking?
- P: Pressure range the gasket will be used in
